KAREN LANE
Karen Lane, originally from Perth Western Australia moved to Sydney to further her career as a jazz and soul singer. Festivals and coveted support slots including
York Jazz Festival, the Julian Joseph series at Sydney's premier jazz club
The Basement quickly followed.
Slots at the Melbourne International Arts Festival and The Sydney International Arts Festival and the International Women's Day Festival in the Domain Sydney, saw Karen reach a wider audience.
In 1998, she relocated to Singapore and worked extensively singing sessions and performing at high end hotels including the Raffles Hotel, Banyan Tree Resorts, Four Seasons and the Raffles Hotel for the NY Eve Millennium.
Since moving to London in 1999 she has played with some of London's leading jazz musicians. She has established a considerable presence, consecutive “sell out” gigs at the Pizza on the Park, Knightsbridge and at Cleo Laine and John Dankworths' The Stables Theatre. Karen has featured at many festivals including Southport International Jazz Festival, Corsham Arts Festival and Soho Jazz festival in London.
Karen and her band have extensive "live" experience in jazz clubs in the UK. In July 2004 she launched her second album "TASTE" at London's most prestigious Jazz venue
Pizza Express Jazz Club Dean St Soho. They have also performed many times in Europe and around the world including France, Berlin, Bucharest, Monaco, Cannes, Italy and South Africa. In 2007 she was invited to perform concerts with The Brass Group in Palermo, Sicily.
